Youth Employment Programs

There are opportunities available in our area for students to get hands-on, paid experience in various fields and job roles.

Direct Placement Internship Program
A subset of SYEP for youth aged 16+ who demonstrate higher job readiness. Participants are placed in advanced roles within public, nonprofit, or private sectors.

ROC Your Job – After School Employment Program
Provides paid after-school work experiences for youth aged 14–20 during the academic year. The program includes job readiness training and financial literacy education.

Summer of Opportunity Program
Offered by the City of Rochester for residents aged 14–20, SOOP provides paid internships and job placements during the summer. It collaborates with SYEP and focuses on career exploration and skill development. Participants must live in the City of Rochester.
